Luminox präsentiert neue ICE-SAR Arctic 1050 Serie

Luminox presents new ICE-SAR Arctic 1050 series

The new collection celebrates the partnership with the Icelandic rescue service ICE-SAR

Together with the "Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue" (ICE-SAR), Luminox presents the new ICE-SAR Arctic 1050 series. The watches, created as part of the partnership with the Icelandic rescue organization, carry the DNA of the Icelandic rescue force and give the 3 versions 1051, 1052 and 1053 a distinctive look. The dial, with its grainy structure, is reminiscent of the lava fields that cover 30% of Iceland. Particularly resistant thanks to CARBONOX™ and bright thanks to the energy-independent lighting system from Luminox (LLT), the new timepieces are also the perfect companions for the next adventure. And especially in Iceland, people appreciate the readability under the most adverse conditions and in the dark. Because in winter there are sometimes only four hours of daylight, so a watch that glows in the dark without having to be charged is a real must-have.

A special feature of the ICE-SAR Arctic series is the pulsometer

Luminox cleverly implemented it at the movement for the date display. And how does it work? The measurement of the pulse should be based on 30 pulse beats. To make this possible, Luminox has included an additional second hand: this helps to have the second hand at the 12 o'clock position faster than with just the conventional second hand. Because in emergencies every second counts and there is no time to wait until the second hand is at the 12 o'clock position. Here is a quick guide to the steps required to use the pulsometer: 1. Find your patient's pulse or your own pulse 2. Wait until either second hand is at the 12 o'clock position 3. Start counting 30 pulse beats . The scale ring shows how many heartbeats you have per minute. For example, if you feel 30 pulse beats in 9 seconds, the pulse per minute is 200, etc

Luminox and ICE-SAR - a sustainable partnership

Luminox is also celebrating its partnership with the Icelandic Association for Search and Rescue (ICE-SAR) in 2023. The Icelandic rescue organization, which combines rescue units such as mountain rescue, disaster[1]phene protection, water rescue, sea rescue and air rescue, fights against various forces of nature every day and around the clock. Time is always a key issue, because every second counts in a rescue operation.

A well thought out collection

Inspired by the rescue service, Luminox developed the new ICE-SAR Arctic 1050 series, consisting of three models (1051, 1052, 1053). The new watches have a 46 mm CARBONOX™ case. The "Swiss Made" timepieces also have sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating and are water-resistant to 200 meters. A date window complements the functionality of the timepiece.

Made for the tough everyday life of the Icelandic rescue organization

The professional teams of the ICE-SAR traditionally enjoy a special training, with which they are prepared and trained for all operations on the "fire and ice" island - as Iceland is also called. Excellent preparation is a basic requirement for missions in the event of avalanches, shipwrecks, storms, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes or freezing temperatures. With only a few hours of light in the winter and daylight around the clock during the summer days, working conditions are made even more difficult. The Icelandic rescue teams therefore need a watch that is reliable at all times, which is durable, water-resistant, bright and can keep up with the tough everyday life of the ICE-SAR. The Swiss watches from Luminox meet these requirements, which is why they have been part of their permanent equipment for several years thanks to the long-term partnership with the rescue organization.
